The HPE Pusey & Jones is designed for testing the hardness of rubber and rubber-like materials. It is typically used for testing rubber rollers used by the paper industry. It can also be used for testing specimens with a flat surface and thickness of 13 mm.
The digital display indicates the penetration depth in mm units with 0.01 mm resolution. A specialized load weight ensures a total force of 9.8 N is applied. A built-in timer displays the measurement automatically after 60 seconds.
